Participate in a study on LBQ2 experiences with gynecological cancers
Researchers across the country are working together on Cancer’s Margins and the Choreography of Knowledge: Toward a Queer Biopolitics and the Mobilization of Public Health Knowledge, a study on the experiences of LBQ2 (lesbian, bisexual, queer, and two-spirited) women and trans people in relation to breast or gynecological cancer.

Localife Edmonton: A night at the Fringe
One of the cornerstones of the festivals in Edmonton is the International Fringe Theatre festival, which has been taking place for over three decades. This ten-day play festival has something that can appeal to everyone, so Ash and I thought it would be a great chance to get everyone together for one last summer gathering.

Localife Toronto: A day in the park
The weather could not had been more perfect–there wasn’t a cloud in the sky and we snagged a shoreline-view set of picnic tables where we all got to sample a variety of foods brought for the day from Bonnie’s amazing chickpea salad, to hot burritos, and sweet treats brought by survivors/supporters.

Mr. Lube grand opening raises $255 for YACC!
Chris Sparkes has supported Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) in many ways since its early days, from participating in the Climb on Signal Hill to Shaving for the Brave. So, of course he included the organization in the grand opening of Mr. Lube in St. John’s, NL from August 17-18, 2013!

Community pulls together to hold annual fundraising event
The Darryl Gorman Memorial Walk has been held in June each year since 2001 and has raised a collective total of $55,000 for Young Adult Cancer Canada. Members of Darryl’s family would coordinate the participants, organize the prizes for a raffle, but unfortunate circumstances meant the regular organizers cancelled the 2013 walk.

Survivor pushes giant "testical" to build community and raise awareness
We got to know Thomas Cantley, testicular cancer survivor, in 2010. He had a dream of making a documentary about pushing a giant ball across the country in an effort to bring awareness to the issues. Now, is doing just that.
