Young Adult Cancer Canada’s (YACC) Board of Directors plays a vital role in governing YACC, overseeing the implementation of our strategy and providing support to the organization. We are always open to hearing from passionate and experienced individuals who are interested in joining our Board.

Currently seeking board member(s) with professional legal background:
YACC is actively seeking a passionate legal professional to serve on our Board of Directors and provide governance and legal oversight for our mission of supporting young adults affected by cancer. We are looking for individuals with expertise in areas such as nonprofit law, corporate law, and governance.
What is expected:
As an applicant, you should have a strong desire to help young adults with cancer access the programs and services offered by YACC. We seek individuals who are dedicated to contributing to a collaborative team and who are passionate about achieving our strategic goals.
Responsibilities for this position will include:
- Ensuring compliance with relevant nonprofit and regulatory laws
- Assisting with legal aspects of strategic planning and policy development
- Providing oversight of legal and financial responsibilities
- Providing guidance on governance matters
This volunteer commitment entails attending board and/or committee meetings, participating in board development activities, and engaging in other relevant initiatives. While quarterly meetings can be conducted at YACC HQ or online, we strive to bring everyone together for an in-person board days twice a year.
