YACC values survivor courage
Close to half of the people who applied for this event have never been to one of YACC’s national four-day face-to-face events. With over 150 applications received to date, that means 75 people had the courage to reach out and apply to an event hosted by a group of strangers.

Our young adults connect with YACC because they know and feel it’s the right path. It’s tough as they come and they open up and often connect with others just like them and their friends sometimes die. But they keep coming back because they also believe in YACC and the power of the community.They call upon their courage and we are there to give them ours.

YACC values strength
Just a week before Christmas, my own strength was tested as my daughter faced her own health crisis. She had lost physical and spiritual strength, and was begging for someone to help refill her cup. So, as any good mama bear would do, I fought and sought until we found a way to get her cup noticed. In the same moment in time, I felt my own strength called upon, and blessedly was able to say the words to get the help that I needed to keep going for her.

I don’t know if it’s the warm, fuzzy holiday spirit creeping in, the vibe around the projects we’re working on, or witnessing what’s going on in YACC world lately, but it feels like this community is more committed than ever to helping young adults cope with cancer.
