Heather's blog: To Africa with life, enthusiasm, love
I realized that when I was there five years ago, I didn’t experience what I loved about Africa because I was completely absorbed by my fear. When I thought back to it, I could barely remember anything of that trip except those dark places. Now here I was, brought back to feel the same way I did as a 22-year-old, and it was amazing and confounding!

Heather is taking back her Christmas spirit
Heather was diagnosed with cervical cancer a week before Christmas in 2008. This year, she’s making an effort to celebrate December instead of letting that day control her.

Heather was diagnosed with cancer five years ago today
Five years ago today, Heather was diagnosed with cervical cancer when she was 27-years-old. Heather was a new mom–her daughter was four-and-a-half-months old. Heather spent her 28th birthday touring the Saskatoon Cancer Centre.
