Being a young adult with cancer is extremely isolating.
During my twenties, I was working full time and pregnant with our first child. It was a normal pregnancy, or so I thought. After several back and forth appointments, I received a call from my doctor. He said the results came back. I don’t remember much after that.
At a time when life should be just getting going, I was at a standstill. I couldn’t relate to anyone my age.
Tired of struggling and desperate to get help, one night while scrolling the internet looking for something — anything — I came across YACC.
Finding YACC did wonders for me. Participating in YACC programs and connecting with other young people affected by cancer has helped enormously with my recovery. The connections and support I have found at YACC helped me recover quicker.
