After a day full of making/strengthening connections within our local young adult cancer community at the first YACC House Party, 14 survivors and supporters continued the fun with an exciting ECHL hockey game as the Newfoundland Growlers played Adirondack Thunder on March 18, 2023.
In between chatting and enjoying the fun atmosphere, the intense game kept our attention as it went into overtime and then 11 shoot-outs! Localife St. John’s must have brought some St. Patrick’s Day good luck to Mary Brown’s Centre as the Growlers finally ended the shoot out and won the game 5-4!
It was a great day together, and as we parted ways at the end of the game, the stadium full of cheers and big smiles reflected how our group’s atmosphere felt after a fulfilling and enjoyable day!
