You are welcome to Shave for the Brave any time you like, but the impending fiscal year end and the decrease of activity means the 2012 Shave season has officially wrapped.
It has been a fantastic year with more heads Shaved (over 1,839), more money raised (more than $700,000!), and more schools and offices on board than every before. We met so many great new people and heard so many great stories over the past six months, and we can’t wait to continue building these relationships.
We’ll be popping up in your inbox from time to time between now and the kick-off of the 2013 event, so feel free to say hello!
Awards
Brian Bradley from 99.1 HITS FM was the evening’s MC
We hope you all know how much we appreciate each and every dollar, hair follicle, and volunteer minute you have given us this year. You’re all Shave for the Brave superstars and the impact you’ve had on young adult cancer survivors this year is huge.
Because of your efforts, more people will be able to attend Retreat Yourself, Localife, and the Survivor Conference to meet other people who truly understand what they’re going through. We will be able to reorganize our website to make it easier to get the information you need. Best of all, there Shave for the Brave network is even bigger; you’re a part of something incredible! Keep your eyes open for yellow toques in your area and give that person a high five.
Of course, there are a few people who have gone above and beyond our wildest expectations this year and we have honoured them with a special recognition at a Shave for the Brave Awards Ceremony on June 18 in St. John’s, NL. Read on to learn more about our 2012 honourees.
