About the Role
YACC’s Fund Development team is growing, and we’re looking for a Fund Development Officer to help us build the revenue foundation that sustains and expands our programs. This role will be responsible for campaign execution, corporate and community fundraising, donor stewardship, and systems management and is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, mission driven environment. This role reports directly to the Director of Development and works in close collaboration with the Operations Coordinator, the Communications Officer, and program staff.

- Is open to candidates across Canada, with hybrid expectations for those based in St. John’s

Responsibilities
Campaigns & Appeals
- Lead the execution of YACC organized fundraising campaigns, with a primary focus on Shave for the Brave events and other campaigns as assigned
- Support the development and execution of campaign communications plans in partnership with the Communications Officer
- Track campaign performance against targets and provide timely analytics and reporting
Corporate & Community Fundraising
- Steward and support community fundraisers and third-party event organizers with toolkits, coaching, and relationship management
- Support corporate partnership cultivation and activation
- Research prospective corporate and community donors and prepare briefing materials to support in major gift and partnership conversations
Donor Stewardship & Engagement
- Support the monthly giving program through logistics coordination, donor communications, and stewardship touchpoints
- Assist with planned giving research, documentation, and donor acknowledgement
- Contribute to donor recognition activities, including acknowledgement letters, impact reports, and cultivation events
Grant & Proposal Support
- Research grant opportunities and draft funding proposals and sponsorship packages in collaboration with the Director of Development
- Maintain a working knowledge of YACC’s active grants portfolio to support reporting timelines and funder stewardship
Data & Systems
- Enter and maintain accurate donor and fundraising data across fundraising and CRM platforms
- Pull reports, monitor pipeline activity, and support the Director of Development with data-informed decision making
- Contribute to the ongoing refinement of fund development data entry standards and processes
Skills & Qualifications
- 3 – 5 years of experience in fund development or a closely related nonprofit role
- Demonstrated experience in grant writing, including researching opportunities and drafting proposals
- Experience managing fundraising events or campaigns from planning through to post-event reporting
- Post secondary degree in social sciences, business or a related field
- Experience working with a CRM or using spreadsheets for donor or data management
- Strong written communication skills, including experience drafting donor communications, proposals, or appeals
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, or community partners
- Knowledge of or connection to the cancer community or broader health nonprofit sector is an asset
Compensation
YACC offers a comprehensive compensation package based on experience. The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $65,000 annually.
