Localife Toronto: "Ohhhh Yeaaahh"

On January 30, 2015, Localife Toronto was fortunate to catch the last show of Cancer Can’t Dance Like This, a one-man comedy show about a cancer peer/survivor, Daniel Stolfi, who was experiencing cancer for the first time. This play won the Canadian Comedy Award for best one-man show, and I’ve been raving about it for years to people who haven’t seen it. I know there were many skits that I was able to relate to, and I’m sure many in the Localife group felt the same way. It’s a really funny, heartfelt, and raw performance displayed truthfully.
For those who watched it for the first time and are newly diagnosed, I truly hope you know that you are not alone. It happens to those from all walks of life. I believe comedy and laughter help heal us faster, and sometimes, a bad thing happen for a good reason.
This was the first Toronto event where I went solo as the Localife Leader as Peter regretfully had to work, but I am grateful to Shali, Sam, and Sarah (hmm, I think I’ll call them the “S Club”), who had my back and helped me out throughout the start of the evening.
Congratulations, Daniel, on a wonderful performance, thanks to everyone who made it out, and thanks to the “S Club” for all your help!
We’ll catch you all next time at the Big Cancer Hook-up on February 28!
Until then, stay warm!
Bonnie
