Localife Ottawa sees the sights

On Saturday, June 8, Localife Ottawa had a day full of adventures. We took a cruise on the Ottawa River and got to see a lot of beautiful views of Ottawa and Gatineau. Following our cruise, we divided the group into three teams of three and had our scavenger hunt, organized by one of our YACCers. Groups looked for things like as a puffin, a Newfoundland flag, a building with the same address as YACC’s head office in St.John’s, and played leap frog with strangers.

After a day out in the sun, we relaxed at a pub and enjoyed some appetizers and well-deserved refreshments. We chatted, laughed, and reconnected with new and old friends.

It was great to connect with new YACCers all the way from Montreal. There’s always a mix of  emotions when we have new members. While I am so grateful that they found us and reached out, I’m more upset that more and more young adults are being diagnosed with cancer every day. YACC’s got your back.

Are you a young adult who was diagnosed with cancer between the ages of 15-39 and is currently between 18-39? We’d love to see you at our next Localife Ottawa event! Email [email protected] for more info.
