Great Balls of Fire in memory of Nicholas Greeson took place at the Dawghouse Pub & Eatery in London, ON on October 19, 2024, raising over $2,600 to help support young adults affected by cancer!
Greeson was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2012 and died in 2018 at 23. In his obituary, he is described as “a talented guitarist and songwriter, the life of any party, a stubborn man, and a loyal friend.”
Tanja Zientara, his mom, said she was “so happy to continue to see Nick’s friends show up for him; his spirit lives on. And I’m so grateful to all my loyal friends who didn’t know Nick, but come to offer their full support. I so hope can offer the same to you one day.”
Zientara says for a $20 ticket, the crowd got “million-dollar entertainment” featuring bands such as Crush, The Chris Trowell Band, Party Chargers, Photoplay, 4 Wheel Drive, Titanium Blade, Sold For Sheep, and Tell It To Sweeney. Some were “ever loyal” supporters, some were new additions to the lineup, some had personal connections to Nick, and all donated their time and put off an incredible show! The event went on for hours longer than it was intended to with everyone clearing out of the venue around 3 a.m.!
Thank you so much to Tanja and those who helped organize this event, the bands, the venue, and to everyone who donated or supported in some way since the first one in 2019. You are helping other young adults like Nick connect with a supportive community and programming to help them thrive after a cancer diagnosis, and we at Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) are so grateful.
