BOARD MEMBER RECRUITMENT: Young adult cancer survivor

We are adding a board member for 2022/2023. Young Adult Cancer Canada’s (YACC) Board of Directors governs YACC, overseeing the strategy while supporting the teams in its implementation.

YACC’s mission

Our mission is to support young adults living with, through, and beyond cancer. To be the connection to peers, bridge out of isolation, and source of inspiration. Every cancer, every stage, YACC’s got your back.

Currently seeking survivors

YACC is recruiting for a director who was diagnosed with cancer as a young adult to be the voice of the 22 young adults who are diagnosed with cancer in Canada each day.

Regardless if you were a member of the YACC community or not, you have faced the same unique challenges that come with having cancer in your late teens, 20s, and 30s, and we want your input around the table. Expertise in communications, technology, fund development, and/or law will be considered an asset.

What is expected

Applicants will be passionate about helping other young adults with cancer access YACC’s programs and care about being part of a team delivering on our strategic goals. This volunteer commitment includes attendance at board and/or committee meetings, as well as board development and other activities.

Quarterly meetings can be at YACC HQ or online, though we try to bring everyone together twice a year for an in-person board week.

Sounds good? Let’s hear from you!

Interested applicants should forward an expression of interest (EOI) outlining governance experience, community involvement, and relevant knowledge and skills to Robyn Davis at [email protected] by February 12, 2023.

YACC values diversity in all its forms and encourages every person interested to apply.
