Thank you to all of our partners, you helped us do over FIVE months’ work in ONE night! One new young adult connects with YACC daily, and on January 26, 163 young adults connected with YACC for the first time—making this the most new connections for a Big Cancer Hookup to date! Cancer is different for young adults, and isolation plays a major part in that because none of their peers have had cancer. These 163 are now in YACC’s network of peers that “gets it.”
The 6th Big Cancer Hook-up had an estimated 5,468 viewers from across the country. That’s the largest group of young adults dealing with cancer ever connected at one time in Canada. Getting to speak to and with over 5,000 people from across the country at one time is unprecedented, and you made it happen.
YACC is here to support young adults as they live with, through, and beyond cancer. To be their connection to peers, bridge out of isolation and source of inspiration. Every cancer, every stage, YACC’s got their backs through local, national, and digital initiatives.
