THEsalon on St. Paul raises $4,000 with 5th THEevent!

THEsalon on St. Paul in Kelowna, BC held the fifth annual THEevent in support of Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) on June 8, 2025, raising $4,000!

A collage of photos from THEevent. In the images, people are participating in magic tricks, spinning a wheel of chance, getting tattooed, and mingling on a sunny patio.

Jordan Brockway, THEevent organizer and salon coordinator, said, “It was definitely our biggest turnout yet, even though it was 34 degrees and we were on a rooftop patio with very little shade. I scattered little sunscreens around alongside YACC brochures, card holders, bags, t-shirts, and product samples. Everything looked great!”

The event kicked off with an afternoon of games, magic by local magician Ryan Michael, refreshments, flash tattoos (which went on for two hours after the end of the event), and more!

“The games were a hit; one even sold out within the first hour! People loved the prizes up for grabs, and I actually got to enjoy the event for the first time. So many guests came up to say how much they loved it, and a few shared stories about young adults in their lives who’ve been affected by cancer. It was a great reminder of why we do this.”

Jordan says over 40 local businesses donated prizes for games, raffles, and the silent auction. “We are endlessly grateful and so were the people who walked away with the goods!”

THANK YOU to everyone who contributed, participated, and supported this event! From NL to BC, YACC has the backs of young adults living with, through, and beyond cancer because amazing people like you have ours.
