Yesterday was Red Dress Day, a National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S). It’s a day of remembrance, reflection, and action.
To honour this day, Localife Winnipeg gathered on May 3, 2025 at the Munroe Library where an Anishinaabe beadwork artist guided us in creating red dress pins. As we beaded, we shared space, stories, Bubly, and snacks.
Each pin holds intention and remembrance. It was a gentle, meaningful way to come together, honour our loved ones, and reflect on the strength and resilience of our communities.
