From humble beginnings to a national mission

Founded in 2000 by Geoff Eaton as RealTime Cancer, Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) has spent 25 years transforming the landscape of support for young adults living with, through, and beyond cancer. Geoff’s own challenging journey with cancer sparked the realization that the experience was different for young adults, and that there were no readily-available and relevant support programs to help them deal with the very unique issues they face. This realization ignited a vision for Geoff that focused on educating and supporting young adults dealing with every cancer, every stage.

Given there was not one organization in Canada with this as its focus, the vision was obvious: YACC had to be that national cancer organization providing resources for young adults looking for inspiration, information, and support!

YACC continues to evolve, but our commitment remains the same

Now 25 years since its inception, YACC has continued to grow and evolve with innovative and accessible programs and support for young adults living with, through, and beyond cancer. Today YACC offers our community a variety of ways to connect both in-person and online with programs such as YACC Chats, Localife, Survivor Conference, Retreat Yourself Adventure, and much more!
