Marley (she/her) is kind, compassionate, and resilient. She is a young adult cancer thriver. Marley was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer in 2013, just days after her 20th birthday. Despite numerous surgeries and treatments, Marley’s cancer relapsed in 2015 and 2018. She now lives her life, fully, with stable metastatic cancer. Marley was first connected to YACC in 2014 after searching desperately for understanding and support from peers. Since her arrival at YACC, Marley has participated in many events/initiatives within the community such as Survivor Conference, Big Cancer Hook-up, YACCtivist, YACC Web: Chats, and YACC Web: Talks, as well as spearheading an AYA Support Group in Northern Ontario-Young Adult Cancer Sudbury. Her experiences with peer support in her own journey with cancer taught Marley to value community and connection and has inspired her to facilitate weekly YACC Web: Chats on the struggles of survivorship.
