YACC celebrated its thirteenth birthday back in June, but scheduling conflicts meant we didn’t get to celebrate with the annual golf tournament until September 19, 2013. Even being held a little later in year, and at a different venue, the event was still a tremendous success (and a lot of fun)!
There were 105 golfers at Clovelly Golf that day who also participated in Minute To Win It-themed obstacles at some of the holes, and the annual silent auction took place at the banquet that evening.
We also called for donations of miles for the first time at this event and were so pleased to walk away with more than 32,000 miles, which will allow more young adults survivors to take advantage of YACC’s face-to-face and web-based support programs.
The event raised more than $17,000 in net revenue which will go directly toward funding YACC’s programs, events, and services for young adults dealing with cancer.
Huge thank you to the TD volunteer committee, silent auction and hole sponsors, bidders, and Aeroplan donors. (Also, thanks to whoever ordered up the fantastic weather!)
