I identify as a Canadian woman with a Caribbean background who is a Lymphoma cancer thriver and is passionate about giving back to my community.
Charlene (she/her) is thoughtful, understanding, and caring.
She is a young cancer thriver who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in August 2015 at the age of 37, and then in 2016 with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 38. She is currently doing maintenance treatment.
She connected with YACC in 2016 when she attended Retreat Yourself British Columbia. Since then, she has attended Survivor Conference, The Big Cancer Hook-up and Localife events.
The importance of connection and breaking the isolation that young adults face is one of the reasons for her becoming a YACCtivist.
