I identify as a thyroid cancer survivor and bisexual university student who is passionate about the environment.
Kaitlyn (she/her) is a confident and outspoken papillary thyroid cancer survivor who discovered her tumor on her 19th birthday. She underwent two thyroidectomy surgeries and radioactive iodine treatment in 2020, and entered remission following her clean tracer scan.
Kaitlyn reached out to YACC post-treatment in 2021 in the hope of finding a group of empathetic individuals, and has so far attended multiple YACC Chats, as well as Primetown.
Kaitlyn aspires to volunteer through YACC to help spread awareness and cultivate an even greater environment for cancer survivors to give back to the all of the community and individuals that helped her during her most difficult time.
