I identify as a Swampy Cree Indigenous woman. I am a straight, single mother. I have been a leukemia fighter for 20 years. I’m passionate about women’s rights, Indigenous rights, and MMIW because I want a better future for my young daughter.

Simone (she/her) is thoughtful, compassionate, and easygoing. She is an AYA cancer thriver, diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia in 2002 at the age of nine. She has been in and out of remission since with the help of daily medication.

She connected with YACC in 2020 when she started seeing a social worker. Since then she has participated in Primetown. She says being in this group helps with her own mental health and with not feeling so alone with her diagnosis.
