We have different options to help you raise money to get to the Conference.
#1: The Survivor’s Climb

One of the most powerful moments of last year’s conference was definitely the Climb of Signal Hill. 48 survivors, supporters and facilitators joined the community and went up the hill.
This year, in honor of all of you amazing people and in memory of those who are only with us in spirit, we decided to make this an integrated part of the Conference and have our own personal Climb; The Survivor Climb. Saturday afternoon Nov. 6th we will drive everyone to Signal Hill and we will make it to the top together. As usual, we will make sure everyone is able to participate (driving those who can’t climb up the hill). This will be our moment, our ritual to celebrate life and honor those we love and miss.
Fundraising opportunity – get yourself to the Rock!
Of course, like last year, the Survivor Climb will be a way for you to raise some funds to help get you to Newfoundland. Last year, the survivors and supporters raised over $10,000!!!
The money raised helped to pay for many flights and helped our community get to the Conference. YACC is growing and so is the Conference, and we need your help to continue growing our community.
Do you think we can get to $15,000 in 2010? Let’s dream big!
If you want to raise money through the Survivor Climb to help pay for your travel costs and maybe help your peers get here too, you first need to Register for the Conference.
Once you get your confirmation email from us, you can go to Survivor Climb and register.
Get your community involved; get support from your friends, family, community and businesses!
If you decide not to use the Survivor Climb to raise money, we can also set up a pledge page for you on Canada Helps like previous years, where people can sponsor you to participate in this awesome event!
This is quick and easy:
1. We will set up your online pledge page.
2. We then send you a link that you can e-mail around to all your friends and relatives.
3. They can then make online donations, as little or as much as they want. If it’s more suitable, your friends and family can send donations in your honor by mail to Young Adult Cancer Canada, P.O. Box 8171, St. John’s, NL, A1B 3M9, or call our office [toll free: 1-877-571-7235] to make a donation by VISA or MasterCard.
4. We’ll track your donations and the money will be used towards the purchase of your plane ticket.
Note: All donations over $10.00 will receive an official tax receipt.
If you are interested in looking for funding from community organizations and businesses, we have a letter that we can send you with information for businesses. Sponsoring organizations will receive a special Young Adult Cancer Canada thank-you and a tax receipt for their contribution to this awesome weekend!
