Core Values

Connection and Community

We hope to decrease isolation and provide YAs and their supporters with a sense of belonging and a network of friends they can count on through good times and bad.

Fun

Not every cancer-related group has to involve circles, feelings, and tissues. Localife is about getting together to have fun and building connections beyond the shared experience of having cancer.

Respect for diversity

Localife will bring people together who have diverse ages, experiences, cultures, values, perspectives, and levels of health. Although we are all young adults, there may be some big differences between someone who is 18 and someone who is 39-years-old. Getting the most out of Localife will require you to keep an open mind and a kind heart toward all members.

Flexibility

Localife is a new program. That means there will likely be a few growing pains and changes made based on the lessons we learn along the way.
